ABILITIES

Snow Skimming
The ability for which they're named, Snowskimmers can imbue large clusters of snow with teleportation magic. This allows them (or anyone accompanying the Snowskimmer) to travel through space, time, and even to alternate dimensions and realities. The Snowskimmer always appears in a flurry of snow and a burst of cold.

Resistance to Cold | Weakness to Heat
Snowskimmers actively enjoy below freezing temperatures. They 'feed' off the concept of cold, and cannot be harmed by it. On the flip side, Snowskimmers do poorly in warm weather. Heat will weaken them and extreme heat will kill them in a matter of minutes.

Snow Breath
A breath weapon, which produces a concentrated blizzard of snow and wind.

Frost Touch
Snowskimmers leave trails of frost on everything they touch.

REPRODUCTION

Snowskimmers can hybridize with any other dragon species, as long as their partner is capable of withstanding a Snowskimmer's frigid temperature, and in turn, is not made of flame or heat themselves. (Firelings, infernals, and Gyujtoan caetran are examples of incompatible species.)

Small to medium sized clutches are common, consisting of 3-8 fist-sized eggs. Eggs are crystalline and semi-transparent, allowing for the embryo inside to be viewed. Eggs require freezing temperatures in order to develop properly. Hatchlings are tiny and delicate when born, spending most of their time frolicking around ice and snow to obtain enough nutrients for development. Young develop rapidly and reach adult size at about 4 years.

HISTORY

Snowskimmers originate from an ice giant within an aging solar system. While possessing a range of magic, they were not a technologically developed species. As their sun grew and expanded, engulfing the nearest plants, the snowskimmer's home rapidly became inhospitable to them from increased heat. They had no choice but to utilize their teleportation abilities and scatter as far as they could in search of new, frigid homes.
